Nation's Capital Brewmaster

Christian Heurich was Washington D.C.'s most successful brewer. He walked across central Europe learning his craft, won a "beer war" against his rivals and won medals at the Chicago and Paris World's Fairs. When his brewery was torn down to build the Kennedy Center, the wrecking ball bounced off its walls. Mark Elliott Benbow describes Heurich's life and career in striking detail in this engaging biography.
